AI & Automation

Do I need AI automation?

Only if you have a process with high volume, rule-bound decisions and a low cost of error — and that process is documented. If nobody can write it down in one page, that is not an AI problem, and automating it will encode one person's version of an undocumented process.

The best first candidates share a profile: repetitive, high-volume, governed by rules, and cheap to correct when wrong. Document processing, inbound triage, reconciliation between systems and periodic reporting all qualify.

The worst first candidate is a customer-facing showcase system. Risk arrives before experience does, and a visible failure sets the internal programme back further than the project was worth.

The single best predictor we know: take a process and try to write it in one page — inputs, decisions, rules, exceptions, owner. Organisations that can do this for three processes tend to deliver. Those that cannot discover mid-build that the process never existed in shareable form.
