SEO
What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work of appearing when someone searches with local intent — the map results and location-based queries. It runs on different signals from national search: proximity, profile completeness, category accuracy, review activity, and consistent business data across every source that lists you.
A site can rank well nationally and be invisible locally, because the map pack barely touches the signals a content strategy optimises. Profile accuracy and consistent name, address and phone data across directories do more work here than domain authority.
Proximity to the searcher is a factor nobody controls, which is why any guarantee of map placement should be treated as a warning sign about the rest of the pitch.
