How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the platform, the number of integrations and the response window you need — not on a tier chart. A site with two integrations and next-business-day response is a different commitment from one with six and a two-hour window.
The variables that move it are integration count, whether the platform requires scheduled dependency work, traffic volume, and how quickly you need someone to respond when something breaks.
What should be excluded is new features, redesigns and content production. Bundling those into a retainer makes it unprofitable for the supplier and unclear for you — which is how retainers quietly stop being maintained.
If someone internally owns the site, has deploy access and reviews it monthly, you may only need specialist help. We will say so rather than sell a retainer you do not need.
