GEO & AI Search
How do you measure AI visibility?
Through share of answer and citation share, sampled repeatedly across a fixed prompt set on each platform, against a baseline taken before work starts. Generated answers are non-deterministic, so a single observation is a sample rather than a measurement. Referral data alone undercounts, because many AI answers are terminal.
Four things can be instrumented with reasonable confidence: share of answer, citation share versus named competitors, AI referral sessions where a referrer is passed, and assisted conversions inferred from branded search lift. The first two are the honest core of GEO reporting. They are leading indicators, not revenue.
We state plainly which numbers are causal and which are correlational. No independent third-party accuracy audit exists for the AI-visibility monitoring tools currently on the market, so their output is directionally useful rather than ground truth.
